Becoming An Advocate @ SAWASF

The South African Women and Sport Foundation (SAWASF) is a non-profit advocacy organisation focused on raising awareness and driving action around the participation of women and girls in all areas of sport. While it is not a sport federation or governing body, SAWASF plays a vital role in addressing the challenges and promoting the inclusion of women in roles such as athletes, coaches, administrators, officials, and leaders.

SAWASF encourages women and girls to join the movement as advocates, ready to take part in campaigns, lobbying, networking, and public education. Rooted in the principles of social justice, the organisation speaks and acts on behalf of women who face gender-based discrimination in sport. Its mandate spans all sporting codes in South Africa, uniting women under a shared goal to champion equality and equity in sport.

Empowering Women, Transforming Communities

We believe sport is a powerful tool for leadership, confidence, and social change.
